Building a Custom Publishing Workflow Solution with Drupal

To prepare for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, NBC Sports asked Oomph to build an internal portal that would make content submission, approval, and sharing easy for their 200+ local affiliate stations.

The Olympics are a world class event filled with hometown stories, so this platform needed to be able to disseminate a high volume of quality content quickly and easily.

The new 2014 Winter Olympics portal made the content review process faster and more efficient. Specialized permissions were engineered into the project that allowed affiliate stations to submit and manage mockups for their websites, upload ad campaigns, and communicate with NBC staff. A built-in notification system made sure everyone knew when content was ready to review and when approvals occurred. Additionally, affiliates were able to use the site as a one-stop destination for Olympics assets from NBC, such as training information, Olympic content, and other tools.

Oomph was proud to play a part in the preparation for the 2014 Winter Olympics. We look forward to continuing our work with NBC Sports and its affiliates.

The Olympic Zone application is built on Drupal and hosted by Acquia. Oomph is a member of the Acquia Partner Network.
