Erin O’Neill

Work can’t always be awesome, but it can always be better. That’s why we need Erin.

A connector at heart, I love the relationship-building aspect of my role as People Ops Lead here at Oomph. After pivoting to HR from finance and operations, I’ve developed a keen understanding of how an organization’s systems and culture impact its people. Today, my goal is to constantly improve and elevate the employee experience.

Prior to Oomph, I was the People & Culture Manager at The Penny Hoarder, one of the nation’s largest personal finance websites. Along with countless opportunities to learn and build my skill set, I also saw how a lightning-fast startup environment can take a toll on morale and productivity, especially for creatives like designers, developers, and writers. It sparked my interest in more holistic, long-term approaches to employee wellness, and resulted in some critical process changes and a mindfulness program I launched to help combat overwhelm and prevent burnout.

Outside of work, I appreciate quality time with family and friends, love being outdoors, enjoy gardening and making handmade cards, and am currently learning to play the violin, which is a longtime bucket list goal. It’ll take years to play well, but every second is joyful — and we all need more of that!
