The RISD Museum’s new website has been nominated as part of the 23rd Annual Webby Awards for Websites: Best Visual Design — Function! The Museum site has been chosen as one of the five best in the world in its category and among the top 10% of all work entered. The 23rd Annual Webby Awards received more than 13,000 entries from nearly all 50 states and 70 countries worldwide. Oomph is very proud to have been part of this redesign and replatform effort, and are very excited to see what will happen with the Webby announcement in the coming weeks.
Vote for the RISD Museum!
The site is competing against fantastic brands like YouTube, Medium, and LEGO for The Webby Award and The Web People’s Voice Award. While The Webby Award is chosen by the Academy, The Webby People’s Voice Award is voted on by the public. Voting is open now until April 18th, so if you haven’t already cast your vote for our hometown hero, please do!
All Webby Winners will be announced on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, and honored at the 23rd Annual Webby Awards, hosted by actor/comedian Jenny Slate, at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City, on May 13, 2019.
Don’t forget to verify your email with Webby to activate your vote, or use social media to log in quickly and easily. The Webby voting system is designed to allow only one vote per person, so please follow the instructions carefully.
About the Webbys
Established in 1996 during the Web’s infancy, The Webbys is presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) — a 2000+ member judging body. The Academy is comprised of Executive Members—leading Web experts, business figures, luminaries, visionaries and creative celebrities — and Associate Members who are former Webby Winners, Nominees and other Internet professionals. Reflecting the tremendous growth of the Internet, The Webbys now honors excellence in 7 major media types: Websites, Video, Advertising, Media & PR, Social, Apps, Mobile, & Voice, Games, and Podcasts.
An impressive list of IADAS members can be found on their website.
About the RISD Museum and Oomph
The RISD Museum and Oomph partnered on a redesign and replatform of the website in 2018, with a launch in September. The Oomph team provided strategy, information architecture, wire framing, and development while the RISD team delivered the final design interface. It was a collaborative effort, and we are both very proud of the results (more about the process in our portfolio). Acquia is the hosting partner for the Drupal 8 site and Museum Plus is the object management system that we integrated with.
